I had the surgery done about 8 years ago and my hand is great. I might have to get my other hand done eventually though. A brace helps a lot though.

  8. Bah, I have CTS and …
Bah, I have CTS and had it for 2 years now. I spend a lot of time on the computer but take occasional breaks to move my fingers, flex my wrists. I have a stress-ball just besides my keyboard. Spend as much time as you want on games and computer just remember to take a break to move around and care for your body. Take at least 15 minutes/hour break to walk around, stretch, flex your wrists and fingers and you should be fine. (Cutting time is not a bad thing either >.> obviously)

  9. Hey man, even tho …
Hey man, even tho you had surgery, go get some Graston or ART work done from a good sports chiropractor, if this is not an option, look into a prolotherapy injection. these both will help you big time, even tho its been 5 months

  10. well it’s better …
well it’s better than nuthin. instead of the person suffering in agonizin pain. they could actually b at ease of pain. n if the person gets therapy on the hand then the person should b fine

  11. Yoau’ll never be …
Yoau’ll never be the same if you let carpal tunnel go on without some kind of relief. THe nerve will begin to die if it is continually irritated. Even Elbow inflammation must be shut down, or the inflammation will slowly spread. BE aware of Giant Cell Arteritis, which starts as jaw pain, then silently moves to the optic nerve. WIthout immediate pregnasone treatments, the eye’s nerve will die. I misspelled pregnazone.

  12. weight gain coupled …
weight gain coupled with repetitive moves will also cause it. had carpel tunnel surgery today, and am very surprised at the extreme low level of post op pain. now to be good to my hand.
try dr, bickel in san francisco.

  13. If you hand feels …
If you hand feels numb and tingling only occasionally, make a mental note on when it happened, and where your wrist was. It’s most likely that you prodded a nerve, which caused the harmless, numb sensation.

IF YOUR HAND FEELS NUMB ON ITS OWN FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME, WITHOUT SOME OTHER SURFACE TOUCHING IT, SEE YOUR DOCTOR.
    Seriously.

  14. Carpal Tunnel …
Carpal Tunnel causes numbness and tingiling in the hands and fingers. Also the fingers can become weak and be very painful. More than likely you have it.I have a friend that had the surgery and it come back within 6 months

    Yay for Hartford Hospital!

  16. I was experiencing …
I was experiencing severe numbness in my hand and was told by an orthopedic surgeon that I had carpal tunnel….turns out my entire arm was filled with blood clots due to Thoracic Outlet syndrome- I was born with an extra rib that was causing an aneurism in the main artery that feeds my arm….I came within hours of losing my hand but thanks to God, 3 surgeries, and the doctors at UAB I’m fine. Get that thing checked out by a vascular surgeon!

  17. only a doctor can …
only a doctor can determine that but they will most likely first prescribe you to wear an extension wrist splint and take inti-inflammatory pain relievers. If the initial treatment doesn’t work, then your doctor may recommend surgery. However, surgery is used as a last resort.

  18. the treatment of …
the treatment of carpel tunnel is nt always surgery. there r conservative measures which r taken b4 surgery & if they fail then u might need surgery. 1st of all the Dr must know the cause of the syndrome, if its idiopathic or 2ry to any other cause. conservative measures r wrist rest by splinting or corticosteroids tunnel injection.

Yeah. Though daily exercise and such will help prevent it. As I haven’t been doing that, have been getting the symptons lately. Though just normal things help prevent it. So don’t play WoW. You’ll get it then. :D

  22. CTS does not need …
CTS does not need surgery in most cases – what is effective is deep tissue massage releasing inflamation from muscle and tendons of the forearm and hand

    Yes you will get …
Yes you will get carpel tunnel if you use the computer a lot. females are most likely to get it because their carpel tunnel is smaller. Idon’t know anything about age though. I’m around that same age and I have CTS in both hands. If you value your hands cut down on your computer time!
