Why do the dentists make molds of your teeth and do they have too make molds of your teeth?
I might need to go to a dentist soon, but I need to know do the dentists have too make a mold of my teeth?
Why do they make molds of your teeth?
In the past when I went to a dentist they had to make a mold of my teeth and it’s a struggle for them to get the mold out.
With other people, is it a struggle for them to get the mold out of your mouth?
Usually for just a dental exam, they don’t need a mold of your teeth. I have worked for a dentist for 21 years, and the only time we take molds is for orthodontic purposes, tooth replacement, night guards, stuff like that. It is always a struggle to take the molds out, But they ALWAYS do come out. The reason it is difficult is because the mold creates a suction. Especially the upper one. Once the suction is broken, it comes right out. If you need to have one taken in the future, just relax and be assured that they will get it out.
they dont have to unless considering aothdontics(braces), or as a record to assess for toothwear and possibly for crowns/bridges/dentures.

my uncles a dentist
Well my experience was that if I had an extraction he did not need a mold but only when he was ready to make a bridge for me so he could get that tooth as close as the real one as he could so it would fit right into place like the original one.
