    Besides, this …
Besides, this debate over the time it takes for the permnant one is for naught, because a well made temp will look and feel just like the permanant one.

    Wrong. Of course …
Wrong. Of course the patient is told they are getting a temp bridge. You could place the permanant bridge right away but the temp is used as “a just in case an implant does not work” buffer. You will see that when this procedure proves to be reliable, with lots of long term data supporting it, then it will be routine for the permanant bridge to be placed immediatly.

  3. ….It is not true …
….It is not true that the “roundhous” bridge seen implanted in this video is a ‘temporary’ . It is the final implant in this mini implant proceedure. The first comment above is confusing this new proceedure with an older standard implant technology, which required a step by step proceedure that was accomplished over many months. Mini implants DO NOT require ossefusion to the bone as the older standard implants did, and thus are fully usable immediately after being implanted/inserted.

    If you’re lucky it …
If you’re lucky it could take 6 months to a year. Notice Shatkin said “Permanent cemented bridge” What Stuart received on this day was a “Temporary bridge”. Stuart had to return 6 months later to get more xrays to see if the mini implants fused to his bone. If so, then and only then did Stuart get a “permanent bridge”.

    What they don’t …
What they don’t tell you is it could take up to 6 months to a year before you actually get to this point.
